26/9/87 :Timetable alterations include the reduction of service from Ruardean Woodside to TThS, from Pludds to TTh and from Forest Green to Th only.

1/6/88 : 0720 journey from Joys Green to Ross and the 1700 return on Monday to Friday are extended to and from Overross Industrial Estate.

12/9/88 : The extension to/from Overross Industrial Estate deregistered. Operation had been erratic.

12/12/88 : Saturday timetables revised with some reduction in journeys.

13/2/89 : Acquired by Dukes Travel (Monday to Friday plus certain Saturday morning journeys) and Paul Willetts Coaches (rest of Saturday service) (P.S.V. operator's licence revoked)

The Martins journeys did not commence until 15 February (P.S.V. operator's licence revoked)

10 April 1989 : Passed to Go Whittle on retendering.

3/10/89 : Acquired from Midland Red West, now runs commercially.

357 (Crowle - Tibberton - Droitwich) : Sch via Tibberton, Smite Turn and Newland Cross Roads then either via Dunhampstead and Shernal Green to Westacre Middle School or via Copcut Elm to Droitwich High School, T via Tibberton, Dunhampstead and Shernal Green to Droitwich (Victoria Square) (TSch).

10/4/89 : Service started.

22/7/89 : Reduced to operate on Schooldays only. The Tuesday off-peak operation still continues, but confined to school terms.

22 December 1989: Withdrawn without replacement.


371 (Ledbury - Cradley - Bromyard, Th)

30 December 1993 : Withdrawn after this date, being partly replaced by the diversion of certain Thursday Bishops Frome - Bromyard short journeys on 469 to operate as circular journeys via Munderfield, Bishops Frome and Acton Green.


418 Bromyard - Hereford via Whitestone and Bartestree (M-F Early)

27 February 1995 : Transferred from service 420.


420 Hereford - Bromyard via Burley Gate (Sch)

6 May 1986 : Certain Burley Gate - Bromyard jnys which extend back from Bishops Frome increased to Sch

1 June 1992 : Very early (0700) M-F journey from Bromyard to Hereford rerouted and transferred from service 469 (via Bishops Frome).

29 August 1992 : Diverted to operate via Old School Lane in Hereford on request.

2 January 1993 : Early morning journey diverted via Aylestone Hill and Commercial Road

420 (Bromyard - Burley Gate - Holmer - Hereford)

27 February 1995 : Early M-F journey diverted via Whitestone and Bartestree to Hereford, continuing to Holmer on request, and renumbered 418 in consequence.


427 (Sapey Common - Bromyard - Brockhampton School, Sch)

8 September 1993 : Won by Rogers Coaches


469 Bromyard - Bishops Frome - Hereford (NSu)

5/4/88 : New contract awarded for Ledbury - Hereford with consequential timetable changes to this service.

3/3/90 : Journeys extended back to Sun Valley Works to replace 929.

6 April 1991 : Revised, with the off-peak Wednesday journey between Hereford and Bishops Frome being withdrawn.

2 January 1992 : Extension to and from Sun Valley Works in Hereford runs only on request. 21 April 1992 : Ceased to serve the Sun Valley Works in Hereford. The first morning journey now enters Hereford via Roman Road and Holmer Cross Roads.

1 June 1992 : Very early (0700) M-F journey from Bromyard to Hereford rerouted, now running as service 420 (via Burley Gate) rather than service 469 (via Bishops Frome).

29 August 1992 : First Saturday journey that ran via Bartestree diverted to run direct whilst the last advertised journey on the route on Saturdays runs via Ledbury as service 476.

31 August 1996 : Early Saturday morning journey withdrawn

6 January 1997 : Further reduced, following the loss of a school contract. Sch trips diverted via Preston Wynne

7 April 1997 : Schoolday journeys amended to provide a service between Whitbourne, Bromyard, Bishops Frome, White Stone, Bishops School (Hereford) and St. Mary's School (Lugwardine). In the morning an existing journey is retimed and extended from Hereford to the schools, in the afternoon a new journey runs from Bishop's School via St. Mary's School direct to Bartestree.


470 (Ledbury - Cradley - Bishops Frome - Hereford, W)

2 January 1991 : Transferred to John Speck Coaches, following retendering

2 April 1994 : Amended with some reductions to the Saturday service.

476 Ledbury - Tarrington - Hereford (NSu) :

3 November 1986 : No longer serves Wellington heath

1 August 1987 : Timetable revised, with 1200 ex Hereford running through to/from Ledbury

5/4/88 : New contract awarded with consequential timetable changes

6 April 1991 : Revised upon renewal of the subsidy contract, with additional through journeys.

15 June 1991 : Revised timetable introduced, with some short journeys being withdrawn and a more regular through service operated.

2 January 1993 : One early morning journey (M-F) from Hereford to Ledbury gained by Blue Line from

5 January 1993 : The morning Schoolday journey on this service (operating locally within Ledbury) is taken over by Newbury Coaches

1 November 1993 : Improved with the assistance of a County Council subsidy to run every hour throughout the morning.

6 September 1993 : Afternoon journey from Ledbury Junior School to Deer Park on 476 (Hereford - Ledbury) transferred to Newbury Coaches

27 February 1995 : Reduced to every 2 hours on Mondays to Fridays, with the other (subsidised) journeys now run by Smiths on a commercial basis. Yeomans Canyon Travel also took over one early morning journey.

25 May 1996 : Saturday routeing within Ledbury amended , because of running time problems. The journeys that formerly operated via Lower Road/Little Marcle Road to terminate at the Memorial now run from the Railway Station via The Homend, Orchard Lane, and Longacres to Lower Road, then Little Marcle Road, New Street and High Street to the Memorial, returning direct via the Homend.

December 1996 : On W evenings 4-18 December 1996 and on Sunday 15 December 1996, a Hereford-Ledbury-Bishops Frome-Bromyard service operated, with subsidy from Hereford City Council.


820 (Bromyard - Hereford Colleges)

7 October 1996 : 0815 departure from Bromyard diverted via Bartestree , being renumbered 418.


822 (Tedstone Wafre -Whitbourne - Bromyard ) (Sch)

8 September 1993 : New Schoolday services commenced

5 January 1994 : Acquired by P.W. Jones Coaches


823 (Linley Green - Stanford Bishop - Bromyard) (Sch)

8 September 1993 : New Schoolday services commenced

1 November 1993 : Incorporated into 469 (Hereford - Bishops Frome - Bromyard), with one Sch journey being diverted via Linley Green and Acton Cross between Bishops Frome and Bromyard.


876 (Belmont - Lugwardine St. Mary's School, Sch)

22 July 1994 : Withdrawn after operation on this date. Some consequential minor amendments took place to 476.


876 (Ledbury John Masefield School - Hereford via Ledbury, Trumpet, Tarrington, Trumpet, Ashperton, Canon Frome, Shucknell, Bartestree and Lugwardine, Sch)

6 January 1997 : Commenced.

1 September 1997 : Revised to simplify the routeing somewhat, the morning journey commences at Shucknall and runs via Bartestree, Tarrington, Trumpet, then looping via Canon Frome and Ashperton back to Trumpet before continuing to Ledbury. The afternoon journey returns via the same route as far as Tarrington, thence running via Shucknall, Bartestree and as required to Hereford.


926 Bromyard to Hereford via Ullingswick Turn, Marden, Walker Green, Moreton-on-Lugg and Sun Valley Works (M-F)

18/4/88 : Commenced. The morning journey replaces the 0710 from Bromyard to Hereford via the main road.

5 December 1989 : Revised to omit Ullingswick.

20 April 1990 : Withdrawn after this date


929(Bromyard - Bishops Frome - Newtown - Sun Valley Works - Hereford) (M-F)

3 February 1990: Evening journey which was operated by Bill Morris's Coaches, was acquired. D R M now runs the full service.

3/3/90 : Withdrawn, journeys on 469 (Hereford - Bishops Frome - Bromyard) being extended back to Sun Valley Works to provide a service.

137 (Abbotts Morton Turn - Alcester High School via Dunnington, Salford Priors and Bidford-on-Avon, Sch)

6 September 1994 : Started.


152 Pershore and Redditch via Pinvin, Upton Snodsbury, Dormston, Inkberrow, Cookhill, Cladswell Lane, New End and Ridgeway (M)

21 November 1988 : New service

11 December 1989 : The service now starts at Pershore, Plum Tree every Monday and on the first Monday of each month is extended back to start at Defford, running via Eckington.

9 February 1991 : Sarts at Eckington on the 1st Monday of the month, Pershore otherwise.

27 April 1992 : Lost to N N Cresswell.


234 (Worcester - Monmouth via Great Malvern, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Walford, Goodrich and Whitchurch)

23 July 1995 : Commenced, with one through journey in each direction and 3 short journeys Ross - Monmouth connecting with Red and White 38.

234 (Worcester - Monmouth via Malvern Link, Barnards Green, Great Malvern, British Camp, Ledbury, Tarrington, Hereford, Fownhope, Ross-on-Wye, Walford, Goodrich and Whitchurch, Summ SuBH)

25 May 1997 : Commenced again with slight variations in route from last year. Again the Ross-Monmouth section has 4 journeys with only 1 journey each way to and from Worcester.

29 June 1997 : Extended back to start at Pershore.

350 (Inkberrow - Hawford Lodge School via Worcester, Sch)

29 January 1996 : Redditch - Inkberrow - Worcester (WFS) service transferred from Rover Coaches of Bromsgrove, although official registration transfer took place at a later date.

22 February 1997 : Revised. The long-standing commercial operation on F between Inkberrow and Worcester was integrated into the through service, with Churchill and White Ladies Aston now being unserved on that day.


384 (Abbots Morton - Pershore, W)

1 November 1990 : Revised timetable with the Abbots Morton and Rous Lench calls being made on request only.


564 (Abbots Morton - Church Lench, Handgate Farm via Radford and Rous Lench, Sch)

1 December 1989 : New service (actually the registration of part of a school contract)

Spring term 1997 : Withdrawn without replacement.


581 (Alcester - Abbots Morton - Worcester, alternate S)

2 January 1993 : Taken over from Conway Coaches, being renumbered to 351 and increased to weekly.


826 Inkberrow to Bromsgrove via Holberrow Green, New End, Astwood Bank, Feckenham, Bradley Green, Hanbury, Stoke Wharf and Stoke Heath (Sch)

28 March 1988 : New service

December 1988 : Increased to also operate during School Holidays

20 July 1990 : Registration amended to delete operation in school holidays. The service runs Sch only.

Spring term 1997 : Withdrawn without replacement.


834 (Radford - Dodderhill School via Inkberrow, Stock Green, Hanbury and Hanbury Wharf, Sch)

8 September 1992 : Commenced.


839 (Bishop Perowne School - Fernhill Heath) (Sch)

11 February 1991 : Acquired from Midland Red West. The morning journey is provided by Rover Coaches.


843 (Redditch - Barnt Green - South Bromsgrove High School, Sch)

29 January 1996 : Transferred from Rover Coaches of Bromsgrove, although official registration transfer took place at a later date.

mid-1996 : Diverted via Hither Green Lane.


848 (Peopleton - Upton Snodsbury School) (Sch)

7 January 1991 : Extended back in the afternoons only from Peopleton to Pinvin via Broughton Hackett and White Ladies Aston, replacing Kestrel Coaches School service between Upton Snodsbury and Swinesherd.


850 (New End via Bradley Green, Stock Green, Upton Snodsbury and the main road to Battenhall Convent, thence returning to Stonebow and Peopleton (Bowbrook School), Sch).

September 1997 : Registration clarified


851 (Radford - Evesham - Pershore - Worcester Schools, Sch)

1 December 1989 : Revised and now starts at Bidford-on-Avon, running via Salford Priors, Norton, Evesham, Cropthorne, Wyre Piddle, Pinvin, Peopleton and Spetchley.

September 1993 : Amended to start at Salford Priors, operate via Port Street and Davies Road in Evesham, and omit Peopleton.

6 January 1998 : Amended to run via Norton, Broadway, Hampton, Fladbury and Pinvin, omitting the centre of Evesham.


884 (Tiddington - Pinvin Middle School)

April 1993 : Withdrawn.


887 Inkberrow - Pinvin Middle School (Sch)

28 March 1988 : Extended to also serve Pershore High School

26 July 1994 : Ceased.

6 January 1997 : Gained from Midland Red West (this bus is actually only a relief vehicle to the 3 Midland Red West vehicles still operating on this "corridor")

13 February 1989 : Most of service acquired from Dean Forest Coaches. Paul Willetts Coaches operates part of the Saturday service.

17 April 1989: Operation revised following formal retendering.

31 December 1990 : Withdrawn. The morning peak journey is replaced by a service 35 journey, deviated via Ruardean.


35 Ross-on-Wye - Walford - Lydbrook - Coleford (NSu)

13/2/89 : Most of service acquired, but with certain journeys by Soudley Valley Coaches and K.W.Beard (within W.T.A. only), Paul Willetts Coaches (Saturday morning journey), and A H Martin and Sons (peak journeys to/from Ross-on-Wye).

17 April 1989: Operation revised following formal retendering.

31 December 1990 : Morning peak jny transferred from 30

7 January 1992 : Positioning journey in the afternoon to Berry Hill withdrawn and replaced by a journey at 1630 from Ross to Monmouth on 861 (Berry Hill - Ross -Monmouth, Sch).

6 January 1997 : Reduced

858 (Ross-on-Wye - Brockhampton, Sch)

7 January 1992 : Revised to run on a circular routeing via Hoarwithy, Kings Caple, Lynder Cross Roads, How Caple, Old Gore and Brampton Abbotts.

20 April 1993 : Morning journey now runs from Berry Hill via Lydbrook, Kerne Bridge, Goodrich, Whitchurch, St Owens Cross and Harewood End to Hoarwithy, then as previously, with the afternoon journey continuing from Hoarwithy via Harewood End and Peterstow back to Ross-on-Wye.

December 1993 : Withdrawn, being replaced by H & H Motors
