This section is planned to show all changes to smaller operators' routes in Hereford and Worcester from just pre-deregulation (Summer 1986) until the end of the County (March 1999).  I am slowly improving the format of the section by reformatting each alphabetical section.

559 (Evesham Station - Wickhamford - Childswickham - Broadway - Willersey, NSu)

2 June 1986 : Introduced, replacing Midland Red West 259. One pk jny each way runs via Davies Road.

1 June 1987 : Timetable revised, many timings reverting to those before previous change.

16 May 1988 : Timetable revised. Journeys now run via Waterside in Evesham to serve Avonside Hospital and more journeys omit Childswickham village. This service now double-runs to and from Childswickham village, with a loop through the village itself, rather than running through Murcott.

1 April 1989 : Timetable revised, service became commercial.

14 May 1990 : Revised timetable to connect with the new rail timetable. At the

same time, one journey in each direction was diverted via Murcott (near Childswickham) again.

6 October 1990 :First Saturday return trip withdrawn after this date due to poor patronage.

7 May 1991 : Extended to the new Tesco's Store at Evesham

9 November 1992 : Rerouted , most journeys running from Evesham via Waterside, Port Street, Bengeworth, Davies Road, the new Link Road and the Bypass to Childswickham, with the exception of some peak journeys which still serve the old route and some which run via Cheltenham Road, the College, the Link Road and the Bypass.

31 October 1994 : Amended with more journeys being diverted via Murcott.

28 May 1995 : Improved with the benefit of a subsidy from Thames Trains. Two journeys added in each direction Mondays to Saturdays, connecting with trains, and a Sunday service of 3 journeys each way also added. The Sunday journeys run Winchcombe - Broadway - Evesham, with positioning journeys continuing from Evesham back to Winchcombe direct. Thames Trains now have a "Cotswold Explorer" ticket also valid on this and other bus 25 September 1995 : Revised , the Summer Sunday service being withdrawn and the Monday to Saturday service reduced with fewer journeys serving Childswickham.

13 November 1995 : Timetable revised, partially in response to the competition from Springs on this route.

2 June 1996 : Extra journeys sponsored by Thames Trains withdrawn. Reduced to NSu


569 (Evesham Station - Moreton-in-Marsh Station via Wickhamford, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Broad Campden and Blockley, Daily)

2 June 1996 : New service, sponsored by Thames Trains and replacing both extra journeys on Castleways 559 and the sponsored Chipping Campden - Moreton service. Buses run to/from Toddington at the beginning and end of service, some buses also serve Snowshill and Broadway Tower and on Saturdays and Sundays some buses run double-run to Toddington for the Gloucester & Warwickshire Railway. There is limited ticket interavailability between this service and Boomerang 166 which serves the same area.

29 September 1996 : Withdrawn on Sundays and reduced for the winter. 3 journeys now operate in each direction Mondays to Saturdays, with the deviations via Toddington and Snowshill withdrawn.

1 June 1997 : Increased to Daily but diverted away from the centre of Evesham due to traffic congestion, running along the by-pass. Hidcote Manor and Snowshill Manor are again served by certain journeys, with depot journeys to/from Winchcombe also registered.

29 September 1997 : Reduced to its winter version of NSu with the Hidcote/Snowshill diversions deleted , although still running direct from Evesham Rail Station via the by-pass and omitting the town centre.

5 May 1987 : Timetable revised.

5 April 1991 : Extended to Warwick (Castle) for the summer period until the end of September only.

4 September 1989 : Revised and renumbered 175 from following retendering. Off-peak journeys rerouted via Bills Lane and Hurdis Road in Shirley, also via Union Road, as service 172.

1 September 1990 : Reduced to 175 (Truemans Heath - Maypole - Shirley Station, Sch), the majority of the service passing to Tame Valley Travel. See service 175 below.

9 (Solihull - Wythall - Redditch) (TThS)

7 March 1987 : Saturday services withdrawn.

22 December 1988 : Withdrawn after operation on this date. No replacement provided as the route adequately covered by other services.


170 (One morning peak single journey from Earlswood Station to Solihull Station via Wythall Station, Truemans Heath and Whitlocks End.)

4 September 1989 : New service commenced under contract to W.M.P.T.E. It covers for a withdrawn train service !

13 October 1993 : Revised , the inward joruney starting from Sledge Green via Birtsmorton, Longdon, Chaceley, Forthampton and Bushley, returning to Bushley via Chaceley, Sledge Green, Birtsmorton and Longdon.

15 December 1993 : Became Wednesdays only, with Saturday service transferred to new 388.

27 September 1995: Withdrawn, being replaced by Boomerang Bus Company.

15 December 1993 : New service formed by extension of the existing Twyning - Tewkesbury service. Boomerang Bus Company provided a replacement for the Saturday 387.

26 March 1994 : Revised , the service now running as a circular from Tewkesbury via Hillend, Twyning, Shuthonger and Bushley, and extended to/from Safeways Superstore at Tewkesbury.

27 September 1995: Withdrawn, being replaced by Boomerang Bus Company.

8 March 1987 : 1810 jny from Ross diverted via Pencraig and Goodrich villages, 0755 ex Llangarron added in School Holidays. Morning jny commenced in school holidays.

25 June 1987 : Minor changes, with S service operated under contract

18 December 1987 : Ceased operation, business understood to have closed. Taken over by Dean Forest Coaches,

20 February 1998 : Saturday lunchtime journey withdrawn as a consequence of falling demand.
